Black Pepper is a perennial woody vine that grows up to five metres high and has heart shaped leaves and small white flowers. As the berries mature, they turn from red to black. When the berries are still black, they are dried and these are what is known as Black Pepper.
Black Pepper essential oil is extracted by steam distillation of the crushed and dried peppercorns.
Black Pepper blends well with Frankincense, Sandalwood, Lavender, Rosemary and Marjoram essential oils.
